La Banque a \u00e9mis 40 millions de ces billets de 10 $ et a collabor\u00e9 avec les institutions financi\u00e8res pour les rendre disponibles \u00e0 tous, partout \u00e0 travers le pays.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Le billet Canada 150 c\u00e9l\u00e8bre la Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une conception graphique unique. Ses \u00e9l\u00e9ments visuels sont porteurs de sens et racontent notre histoire, notre territoire et notre culture.\u00a0D\u00e9couvrons-le !<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">C\u2019est la premi\u00e8re fois que quatre portraits de personnalit\u00e9s publiques ornent le recto d\u2019un billet de la Banque du Canada. Sir John A. Macdonald, sir George-\u00c9tienne Cartier, Agnes Macphail et James Gladstone sont quatre parlementaires qui ont jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le important dans notre histoire. Ensemble, ces quatre personnalit\u00e9s nous rappellent que le Canada d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui a \u00e9t\u00e9 fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 par des personnes de diff\u00e9rents horizons qui, par leur vision, leur courage et leurs efforts, ont cr\u00e9\u00e9 un pays meilleur.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Autour de la bande transparente, treize feuilles d\u2019\u00e9rable symbolisent les treize provinces et territoires du Canada. Les trois feuilles d\u2019\u00e9rable d\u2019apparence m\u00e9tallique au bas de la bande transparente renvoient \u00e0 celles garnissant l\u2019\u00e9cu des armoiries et symbolisent les nombreux peuples du Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dans le bas de la bande transparente, on trouve une image du <em>Hibou au bouquet<\/em>, une \u0153uvre combinant gravure sur pierre et dessin au pochoir cr\u00e9\u00e9e par Kenojuak Ashevak, une grande artiste inuite. Nomm\u00e9e compagnon de l\u2019Ordre du Canada, l\u2019artiste a cr\u00e9\u00e9 des \u0153uvres qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 reproduites sur des pi\u00e8ces de monnaie et des timbres canadiens, mais jamais encore sur un billet de banque canadien. Ashevak a v\u00e9cu et travaill\u00e9 \u00e0 Cape Dorset, au Nunavut, le dernier territoire \u00e0 faire son entr\u00e9e au sein de la Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration, en 1999.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Le motif apparaissant au haut et au bas du billet reproduit l\u2019aspect caract\u00e9ristique de la ceinture fl\u00e9ch\u00e9e, aussi appel\u00e9e \u00ab ceinture de l\u2019Assomption \u00bb, un symbole culturel majeur pour les M\u00e9tis. La ceinture fl\u00e9ch\u00e9e rev\u00eat aussi de l\u2019importance dans la culture canadienne-fran\u00e7aise. Port\u00e9e par les habitants, elle est devenue une marque particuli\u00e8re aux voyageurs et aux commer\u00e7ants de fourrures au cours du XVIII<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Le verso du billet met l\u2019accent sur les paysages naturels et la beaut\u00e9 majestueuse du Canada.
